Project Description: The developer Project^ came to Hacker Architects with the goal of revitalizing an under-utilized industrial sector of Portland’s Willamette River corridor. The design story became an intersection of city and nature where the boundary between inside and out was blurred to create more humane workspaces for the buildings’ tenants. Amenities include: an at grade courtyard packed with native plants, a lush indoor living room, a bike lounge, high parks, and sky parks. An industrial palette of corrugated steel, weathering steel, and salvaged Douglas fir serve as the backdrop for the cultural and natural regrowth of the site.
